For Sellers

Selling a home can be a very daunting experience. In order to make your home sale a success and bring in the highest offers, several steps can be followed.

Curb Appeal
Start with the exterior of your home. A few inexpensive cosmetic changes could make a big difference in the number of potential buyers you have

  • Trim bushes and shrubs.
  • Keep lawn mowed and edged.
  • Clean and sweep walkways.
  • Clean grass and weeds from sidewalk and driveway cracks- repair any broken cement.
  • Make the front entryway as inviting as possible- add potted plants around walkway.
  • Paint front door in an inviting and warm color if needed.
  • You may also want to consider painting the exterior of your home as well, if needed.
The next step is to ready the interior of your home.

Scents
Smell can be a very important factor. Walking into a home that smells like lemons, flowers, or fresh baked goods is much more appealing than a home that smells like pets or smoke.

Remove the Clutter
Start packing away those extra knick-knacks, small appliances that crowd the kitchen countertops and extra furniture that always seems to be in the way. Children’s toys should also be limited to a minimum to keep potential buyers from tripping over them. Another thing to remember is to clean your closets. It may seem like a good idea to pack everything away there, but potential buyers will want to see the interiors of the closets, and you would not want anything to fall out on them!

Make your home shine
Have your carpets professionally cleaned, polish wood floors, and clean tile and grout. You may not need to repaint walls in your home if you diligently wash off fingerprints, dirt and repair small nicks or holes. Do not forget to clean the windows as well.

These are just a few ideas to make your home more inviting to potential buyers.
